Born in 1955 I grew-up during a time and in a family where “being an artist” was neither encouraged nor supported no matter how gifted one might be. The mantra I heard from my Father was, “Get a Real Job”. So I did – I worked in manufacturing for 44 years which ended March 15th, 2017. I simply woke-up that morning and knew I would never go to work again. I emailed my resignation and never looked back.
A late-bloomer, I graduated UCSC (University of California at Santa Cruz) in 2002 with a degree in Interactive Media Design. In 2004 I received my degree in Filmmaking from the New York Alternative Film School. I formed my first digital film business – Digital Backlot – which was replaced years later by The Undisclosed Studio. I worked in animation and special effects film making until they began to lose my interest and I longed to get back to being a visual artist.
