Film Friday – Double Bill Classic Comedy

Picture 189

June 5, 2020 – Day 81 of my quarantine

Before I get into the films I want to say something about current events –

There are 3 easy and simple things you can do to help that cost nothing and do not require you to leave home.

1. Sign petitions demanding justice for African American victims murdered by police.
2. Support organizations like BLM by visiting their website and educating yourself about what is really going on.
3. If you are white – Recognize and own your white privilege – stop personalizing what is happening. Listen to people of color tell their stories without interjecting your opinions or personal drama. Be present for those who need to be heard.

Two of my all-time favorite comedies – Mel Brooks “Young Frankenstein” and Niel Simons “Murder by Death”.

I recently rewatched both films and found they still make me laugh. But – I don’t know –  these may not appeal to younger generations. Especially all of “Murder by Deaths” references to classic mystery writers who have long since left us.

Sending you all my Love and Light. Stay Safe. Stay Smart. Stay Sane. Stay Strong out there.

Until next time …
