I hope this finds you all well and at home, healthy and stocked-up on Toilet Paper.
Here at the House of the Traveling Moon, in Lake County, CA, we have received word from the Sheriff’s Department that we will soon be joining the rest of the San Francisco Bay Area’s counties in an order to “Shelter in Place.”
In the affected California counties, all non-essential travel has been banned and people are being told to work from home or stop working unless they provide an “essential service,” CBS San Francisco Bay Area reports.
Essentialinclude police, firefighters, out transit and sanitation workers, San Francisco Mayor London Breed said Monday. While most people will be asked to stay inside, there are some instances you could leave your home — as long as you don’t abuse it.
“Grocery stores, and pharmacies, and banks, and gas stations will remain open,” Breed said. “Restaurants will be open for takeout only. She added that non-essential businesses like bars and gyms would close at 12 a.m. Wednesday.
The cats and I are all stocked-up and can easily survive for a month or more here without leaving home. I have canceled my Literacy Tutoring for the time being.
Being in the worst category (65 and over with pre-existing chronic conditions – diabetes and stage 3 kidney disease) I knew I was going to have to self-quarantine before it was announced. That plus the fact that my life partner told me, in no uncertain terms, that I’d better take good care of myself – LOL – trust me, I never want to risk her wrath. There’s a rumor that she’s actually a Mafia Woman …
My list of tasks getting the new studio set-up and running will keep me busy for quite a while as well as work backlogs in BOTH studios.
The new studio room painting is done – 2 coats on the walls and an unbelievable 4 coats on the ceiling. I did the floor with a new cleaner/shiner and WOW it really pops and shines!
This morning I laid down the new rug and weighed down the corners so it could relax from being shipped in a tight roll. I really gotta give a shout-out to Wayfair for having an incredible selection of affordable, attractive area rugs.
Today I’ll be assembling the rolling racks and setting-up the new air compressor then bringing-up all the glass studio stuff from the garage.
My 4 kids are holding-up well through this very stressful time, as you can see …
From our home to yours we wish you a stress-free quarantine. I hope you can chillax and take this time to enjoy your home and family. Maybe get back in touch with what you are grateful for. I’ve restarted a Gratitude Journal and list 5 things a day that I am grateful for. It really helps shift my focus into a more positive direction.
Stay safe –
Until next time …
