Housekeeping & Sciatica

Computer-Cable-Spaghetti

Sorry for the delay in posting – I’ve been continuing my housekeeping rampage – tackling the maze of tangled wires running from my computer to all the peripheral devices in the studio

I invested in a powered USB 3.0 HUB with 7 sockets which has helped – previously I used a couple 4 socket non-powered USB min-hubs which only contributed to the messy look.

Being an old fart I deal with computer work-related maladies not suffered by most of my younger computer graphics peers. Namely arthritis and sciatica.

(Sciatica refers to back pain caused by a problem with the sciatic nerve. This is a large nerve that runs from the lower back down the back of each leg. When something injures or puts pressure on the sciatic nerve, it can cause pain in the lower back that spreads to the hip, buttocks, and leg.)

I recently bought a nice gamer’s desk chair thinking it would help relieve the pain in my  tail bone which currently prevents me from sitting for long periods of time. new chair

Although it does help a bit – I still cannot work for long periods of time the way I used to. So I continue to try other ideas for improving this situation. I am sure I will hit on the right combination soon!

I’ll be putting together a short WIP video soon concerning the book’s production. So stay tuned for that.

Until next time …
